Washington, D.C. – Thursday, February 8th, 2024 – Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Duarte Entertainment proudly announces the second edition of La Placita DMV. Scheduled for Saturday, July 27th, 2024, this festival promises to be a grand celebration of Puerto Rican culture in the nation’s capital.
Last year, La Placita DMV made history as the first-ever Puerto Rican festival in Washington D.C., attracting over 5,000 attendees. This year, the festival is set to surpass its previous success with an even more impressive lineup and variety of activities.
Headlining the event are musical sensations Limi-T 21, Luva with a Marc Anthony Tribute, and the legendary Tito Auger (Fiel A La Vega’s lead singer). Additionally, the festival will feature a wide range of Puerto Rican cuisine, art, and cultural experiences, ensuring a day full of entertainment and discovery.
A highlight of this year’s festival is the return of the People’s Choice Award, with defending champion Lechonera DMV. Will they retain their title, or will a new champion emerge? Attendees are invited to participate in this exciting competition and have their say in crowning the 2024 champion.
Beyond the music and food, La Placita DMV will also offer a larger kids’ area, making it a perfect event for families. “Our goal is to celebrate our rich Puerto Rican heritage and share it with the entire D.C. community,” said Luis Duarte, founder of Duarte Entertainment. “We are excited to bring everyone together again for an even bigger and better event this year.”
